Here I stand in front of Nancy's Candy Factory. They produce all the chocolate delights you could want. You know some of that followed me out of there.

On the road to new locations
It was a great camping location, so much to see. We explored, looked, walked and enjoyed the wonderful weather. But time has come for us to leave and move on down the road.
This is Rocky Knob where we camped for 9 days.
We found old covered bridges to look at, now can't you imagine an old model T traveling through this bridge to somewhere?
This is Jack Creek covered bridge. Neither of these are used any longer but isn't it great they left them in place for us to marvel at?
Today of course on our travels to a new location brought a lot of excitement. A full grown deer, ran out into the road in front of the motorhome. I didn't know these could stop that fast. But the deer managed to get almost past me, but I did hit his left rear side with my left front side. No damage to the motorhome and don't think I hurt the deer, he leaped on off into the brush on the other side of the road.
Due to slamming on brakes, anything in the back of the motorhome that wasn't tied down, slide to the front.
Thankfully neither of us were hurt, deer was fine and the motorhome undamaged, but it was fast and scarey to think what might have happened.
The temps have grown hot, humid and we are looking again for the cool weather of the north. Stay tuned.

On the Road Exploring
It is such fun to walk and see what you can find in the area.
Beautiful Iris' in Bloom.
Flowers are in bloom here everywhere.
It is spring in the mountains.
We have also found beautiful homes in the area.
You could find barrels of candy in one general store.
You could find out about yourself on products. (laughing) Wait until you see my name. Oh yes found that one too.
You find what they do with road kill here.
Seeing rivers tumbling by.
Brightly colored fungi on trees.
Our slithery friends when you least expect them. Now I am not the bravest soul around snakes.
Don't know what this bird is, but he was right outside my window.
Until we continue exploring, Hope you enjoy some of the great finds I have had.

On the road to the Blue Ridge Mountains (pictures)
Beautiful Park in NC. We stayed here a couple of days. Great views. We left here after two days and visited the visitors' center to check out the dam there.
At the visitors' center they had one of the guns used by the mountain men. Beautiful condition.
A view back over the lake created by the dam. Guys in boats were out there fishing. Didn't see them catch anything.
Flowers are in bloom everywhere. This is a close up of the Mountain Laurel.
This is my front view as I drive through the mountains. That is Liz in the grey roadtrek in front of me. She is my guide.
We spent Saturday night in the little (Laughing) town of Mayberry, aka Mountain Airy. We took a short tour and only found the statue of Andy and Opie going fishing. Don't think this is high on the list of places to visit again.
We stopped and looked at the different types of fences they use in the mountain area.
We stopped at a place called Mabry's Mill. They still grind grits and cornmeal here. I found some sweet potato pancake mix, bought that added blue berries to it and we had a fine breakfast. Also learned that the Mountain Ivy band and dancers would be there that afternoon, so we had to come back for a visit.
Bear enjoyed the day.
The band was very enjoyable. No sound system at all.
This dance is called flat footing. It is known for that because of how the foot hits the floor in more of a light stomp, with the foot flat.
Here is a Japanese lady that joined the group to learn the American style dance.
Then a Japanese lady was so excited about seeing them dance she joined the group and actually did quite well The lady in the capris is doing clogging which is quite different than flat footing.

On the road to the Blue Ridge Mountains
We stopped a couple of nights at a great campground. On the way up to the Blue Ridge of course we had to stop and get gas. We stopped at the RoadRunner gas station. If I had better connection here on the Blue Ridge I would share the picture.
Because of construction the Blue Ridge sent us on a detour and we went into Mount Airy, better known to most as Mayberry. We spent the night in a Walmart parking lot to the sounds of va rooooom va rooooom. Bikers were hanging out next to me with their harley's. Liz has the guys with the glas pack mufflers and she got the loud roar and horn blowing, a restful night was had by all. We drove into Mayberry, got a picture of the statue of Any and Opie. Mayberry isn't what it use to be.
But back on the Blue Ridge life became great once again. The views are spectacular. We enjoy a country group called Mountain Ivy and some flat shoe dancers. A terrific day.
When I get a bit more power I will upload pictures to share with you.

On the Road to Biltmore
We traveled on down the road to the Biltmore. What a beautiful home. Of course they had 40 inside servants and probably tht many or more outside servants. They had breakfast clothes, luncheon change, hand work change, afternoon tea change, dinner change and change for bed. They had very small closets but a very large wardrobe. The flowers were so beautiful. Of course a bottle of wine had to travel with me when I left the Biltmore. The wine tasting was great. After the wine tasting we just had to have an ice cream cone. Such a wonderful way to end a beautiful day.
The Biltmore House
One of the many gardens you can walk through
Clock at the winery.
Beautiful flowers

Water Falls
We left Murphy, NC and headed for Franklin, NC. After successfully finding the campground, we parked my rig and took Liz's up the mountain.
We visited Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the Falls at Sky Valley. The Flowers were in bloom, beautiful roses.
We visited Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the Falls at Sky Valley. The Flowers were in bloom, beautiful roses.
Off we go.
Took me awhile to get all the appointments finished I had after that April 8th retirement date.
But Bear and I hit the road, stopping the first night in Perry, Ga. Nice little park. Left Perry, heading over to 441 northbound. Rode through some nice areas of Georgia. Entering NC, decided to go over Blood Mountain and down into Murphy. That was a real treat. Southern Comfort took that mountain like a champ. Bear thought his mom was having trouble deciding whether to go right or left. Believe he got dizzy, he didn't want to look outside and got down in the floor.
When I got into Murphy, drove right to Carol's house, without realizing I was at Carol's house, I kept driving. Later Liz tells me she saw me and was running down the road behind me yelling and waving. I went back up on the highway, drove to an abandoned station and stopped. No cell phone service, no way to get in contact, so decide I would go back to an RV Park I had seen. Very nice park, with concrete slab sites, on a creek and a beautiful view. Upon getting settled in, my phone rang, it was Liz. I decided to stay put for the night. Liz and Sarah came down to pick me up, so I could share the delicious meal they had cooked. Roast pork, polenta and a great salad with strawberries, blueberries and bannana.
The following day I packed up and drove back down to Carol's. Carolyn came over from Tennessee, so we all had a mini gathering.
Stay tuned for the next chapter of the waterfall search.
